Possibly I was having a moment of madness, but I have decided to sign up for ljbookbingo this year. I have no illusions that I will get a blackout, but I think I'm mostly hoping it will encourage me to read more, and to read more widely than just crime novels and popular science non-fiction, which was apparently the theme for last year.

Right, here we go again. Let's see if we can beat last year's total of 7 books read in the entire year. I'm not going to set myself any targets, but 'better than 7' seems a fairly low bar to aim for, and if I get to double figures I'm going to call it a win.

So, um, sorry for the complete absence the last few weeks. Unexplained internet issues meant I couldn't get lj to load *at all*, and most other internet sites were really slow and sometimes failed entirely, especially if they were quite picture/graphics heavy.
